Biodiversity Walk with Malcolm Worthing

Extracted from GWLAP Inc. newsletter (photography taken along the Hindmarsh River Trail by Malcolm Worthing).

I am excited to announce I will be leading my first walk along the Hindmarsh River Trail featuring its biodiversity and ecosystem processes as a whole!

For more information, please see the excerpt by Goolwa to Wellington Local Action Planning Association Inc. ,below:

Explore the biodiversity of the Hindmarsh River Trail with local author Malcolm Worthing.

The Hindmarsh River is a diverse landscape encompassing coastal sand dunes, paperbark woodland and a lagoon. Enjoy a walk through the area, guided by local author and artist Malcolm Worthing.

Connect with nature and understand how different bird, flora and fauna species interact with each other, the environment and the impact of people on habitat. Summer is a time when butterflies, bees and lizards should be abundant for us to see. The state vulnerable Yellow-bellied Water Skink is known in the area, so we may be lucky and see one.

What to expect:

  • Meet at the end of Cudmore Road, McCracken

  • We keep the group small to enable best chances of bird sightings and maximise your experience

  • An easy walk where we will talk about the different flora and fauna that we see along the way.

  • As we are outdoors please wear suitable footwear for walking, BYO sunscreen and water.

Malcolm will have copies of his book, 'Birds of the Hindmarsh River Trail' for sale for $28. Cash only please.

This event is supported by Green Adelaide.

Goolwa to Wellington LAP is part of the Greater Adelaide Environment Network.”
